Cathy is the President and Founder of NovaCore Performance Solutions, a firm committed to enhancing the performance
of individuals and teams in workplaces. To this role, Cathy brings 25 years of experience in human resources, training, consulting, management and coaching within a variety of organizations, industries and sectors located throughout the United States and internationally.
Prior to establishing her own firm, Cathy served on the Extension Faculty of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations as the Director of Human Resource Management Programs. In this role, Cathy designed and directed all aspects of the human resource management program, developed and delivered workshops to managers and HR professionals, formulated training recommendations to remedy specific learning needs within a variety of organizations, and consulted with clients on a variety of topics.
Cathy has written several full-length books, including:
- Performance Appraisals for Silver Lining Publications, a division of Barnes & Noble
- PHR Exam Prep, for Que Publishing, a division of Pearson Education (First and Second Editions)
- Mission-Driven Interviewing™: Moving Beyond Behavior Based Questions, PTI Publishing
Cathy has also presented at a variety of national and local conferences on topics related to mission-driven interviewing™, and is a current member of SHRM's Speaker's Bureau. In addition, Cathy has co-authored numerous -- and facilitates 20 different -- online courses in: leadership and strategic management, human resources, and management development.
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Ithaca College and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University. Cathy graduated from Coach U's Core Essentials Program in 2010, and anticipates graduating from Coach U's Advanced Coaching Program in Q1 2011. Cathy is also enrolled in Capella University's Post-Master Certificate in College Teaching Program (anticipated 2013). In addition, Cathy is a certified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) Step I™ and Step II™ Assessments, and the Extended DISC®.
Cathy has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute, and the CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) designation from WorldatWork. Cathy is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, American Society for Training and Development, and the International Coach Federation.
