Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)®

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)® helps people understand themselves better to enhance their relationships with other people in various settings. After 50 years of research and development, the current MBTI® is the most widely used instrument for understanding normal personality differences and explain basic patterns of human functioning. In 1980, David Saunders loaded in all 290 items Isabel Myers used on any form of the MBTI® up to then and factor analyzed the survey results. This factor analytic process confirmed the four preferences: (1) Introvert – Extrovert (2) Intuition – Sensing (3) Thinking – Feeling and (4) Judging – Perceiving.
